PRISON MINISTRY (More Info)
With valid GUTK minister credentials, you will be eligible to make prison visitations with minister status. It's a great power and it's a great responsibility; yet at the end of the day teaching God’s revealed and verifiable truth(s) is tremendously rewarding!
Organizing bible/ quran studies at a prison can be a very helpful act during a critical transitional time for inmates. African/ Indigenous people (men and women) make up the majority of the U.S. prison population. More than anything else these prison inmates often lack a true knowledge of self. Many inmates grew up in oppressed communities, and broken homes without proper guidance.
With a lot of time on their hands, inmates are particularly receptive to studying, and researching information. They are seeking desperately for a new beginning, for forgiveness, and for a new healthier path in life. As a GUTK licensed Minister you will have the great honor and privilege of bringing inmates information/ scholarship on various religions and engage in spiritual healing. Therefore, leading a prison bible study means leading by example. Not only will inmates look to you for knowledge regarding the sacred texts, but they will also look to you as an example of how to be spiritually strong, and to live peacefully and upright in today's society.
GUTK Ministers have tremendous influence over the spiritual direction that incarcerated individuals will take. As a prison minister; you provide inmates a great service in assisting in delivering an upright brother/ sister back into our community upon release.
