We provide minister credentials to those of all religious backgrounds and philosophies that are centered in TRUTH and African/ Indigenous spirituality.

GUTK minister credentials allows you to officiate wedding ceremonies for friends, family or strangers. As the official Minister officiating a marriage you will be in charge of several important duties at the wedding ceremony. It is not your duty as Minister handle wedding logistics (i.e. organize catering, venue, or music); but itt will be your divine responsibility as Minister to ensure that the bride and groom are sincerely in love; with pure intentions for one another.

What are the steps toward becoming a certified marriage Officiate?

Step 1:  After accepting Gods calling to teach and serve your community you will need to become legally licence as an ordained minister. If you are not currently licensed the legal process of becoming credentialed through GUTK is fast, simple and inexpensive. GUTK minister credentials gives you the authority to officiate weddings in all 50 states and U.S. territories.  

Step 2:Ministers are not legally, but ethically responsible for the success of a marriage. Although it’s not required by the state, we encourage Ministers to counsel the couple that is getting married prior to the ceremony. This allows you to gather information that might be useful during the ceremony, as well as ensuring that the couple is suitable for one-another and not about to make a major mistake.

Step 3: Marriage laws are governed at the state level. Check the laws in your state or county. Visit your Secretary of State's website or contact your local county clerk's office to verify what the local requirements are for providing marriage officiate services in the area.  Click here for more info on state requirements.

Step 4: Prior to the ceremony carefully read and review all parts of the marriage license. Effectively communicate with the husband and wife (to be). Understand your legal role in the overall process. Perform the ceremony and sign the marriage license as required by law. You must be sure to submit the marriage license to the proper licensing authority within the timeframe allotted; legal recognition of the marriage may be jeopardized if you fail to do so.

Step 5: As an independent Minister the rate you charge to perform a wedding ceremony is solely your decision. Ministers often wonder what world be a fair rate for the service of performing a wedding ceremony. In today's wedding industry, it is ultimately up the individual Minister to decide what a fair rate is for his/ her service. When officiating a wedding for a friend or family member's, there is often no monetary fees for the service. Nevertheless, it is customary for the bride and groom to pay for the Minister's expenses (i.e. travel, meals, lodging). In 2016 the average rate per contract for performing a wedding is $250 - $3,000.
